ALEX HALEY TRIBUTE SITE Press Release: Nashville, Tennessee, Thursday, May 10, 2012 Many updates are currently in progress on our tribute site to Alex Haley. Separate pages now exist for Roots: The Saga of An American Family, Roots: The Next Generations and for Roots: The Gift. All the videos that were included on the Interview Page have now been moved over to a newly created Video Interviews page in order to make them load and stream faster. In addition, a new Audio Interviews page has been created to host all our audio clip interviews. Better descriptions of all our main pages now exist within our menu bar at the top of all pages to provide you with a better navigation experience. A new Alex Haley Farm (Purchased By The Children’s Defense Fund in 1994) Page is currently being updated. In addition, The Alex Haley Museum page will be extensively updated to provide information on their Interpretive Center as well as their new website.

Stories of America

Alex Haley was general editor of the 28 books in the Stories of America series. The education of children was a cause to which he was firmly and enthusiastically committed. This series represents part of Alex Haley’s legacy to the children of America, where he stated, “So read Stories of America and listen to the music of your history and witness the sights, sounds, smells, and life of your past.”
